DigidownCR FAQs
To download a driver card into the DigidownCR, insert the card with the chip down into the slot in the side of the unit. The download will start automatically and the LED beside the 'card' button will flash repeatedly about twice a second during the download. Successful downloading is indicated by the LED blinking briefly about once a second. If the DigidownCR is not connected to a computer via USB, it will search for a Bluetooth connection after a successful card download.
Downloading a driver card into the DigidownCR takes in the region of 30 seconds. In order to download, the DigidownCR must be powered either by 2 x AAA batteries, or by USB connection to a computer.
EU regulations require you to download the data from your digital tachograph driver cards every 28 days, or more often if required to ensure no data is lost. If data is not downloaded on a regular basis, the stored data may be overwritten and lost.
Download and install the DigidownConnect app
Run the DigidownConnect app on your phone. Follow the setup instructions to select your preferred language, name and the email address that your data should be sent from. Setup and check the Bluetooth connection to your DigidownCR (the pairing code is 6543).
You will need to set the destination email address in the DigidownCR memory before any files can be uploaded.
Please note only Android™ and Blackberry phones running OS version 2.0 or later are compatible.
If you cannot download the app from Google Play, you can download the apk file. On your phone"s web browser, go to m.digidown.net. Download and install the DigidownConnect app.

The DigidownCR can send files to an email address or to an FTP address. For security, this address is stored in the DigidownCR memory. To set the address, use the small windows program available to download here.
To send data from your DigidownCR to a pre-set email address or FTP server via your phone, run the DigidownConnect app on your phone. Select 'Upload file'. Start a card download on your DigidownCR by inserting a smart card into the slot in the side. When the download is complete, the Bluetooth LED will begin to flash about once every two seconds while the unit searches for a Bluetooth connection. While the files are uploading, the LED will flash about twice a second. Successful upload is shown by the LED blinking briefly about once a second. The uploaded data will be sent to your chosen destination.
The DigidownCR can be connected to a PC using the supplied USB cable. The DigidownCR will appear as a standard removable drive.
The downloaded data appears in the 'Digidown' folder under 'Card' for driver card files. The files in these folders can be copied to an appropriate location on your computer for analysis and storage.
In order to view and analyse your files, you will need appropriate tachograph analysis software. Please talk to your dealer for more information.
Files downloaded by the DigidownCR are in the precise format specified in EU regulation 3821/85 Annex 1B Appendix 7 and thus should be readable by any drivers' hours software package which is otherwise capable of handling data from digital tachographs.
Each time a DigidownCR saves a tachograph card data file that file is given a name. The format of this name is not specified in any EU tachograph regulations. The authorities in France and Spain have defined file name formats which must be used in those countries. Elsewhere there is no specific requirement for any particular name format but there are several commonly used name formats.

The DigidownBase is a dedicated unit that will scan continuously looking to upload data from your DigidownBlue and DigidownCR units. The uploaded data is sent to a PC and can then be transferred anywhere you like.
